Devils Tor - Lapsang Souchong Gift Box

£31.50

A smoky black tea with a large leaf.

A beautiful gift box containing 3 of our Devils Tor Black Teas.

There is something slightly hypnotic about brewing a pot of broodingly dark Lapsang Souchong. Highly aromatic, it conjures pictures of crackling bonfires and heady wood smoke slicing through cold winter days.

To achieve such an intense aroma the leaves must be slowly dried over pinewood fires. This process reduces the caffeine content of the tea, making this an excellent evening beverage.

Loose Leaf Benefits

The dangers posed by microplastics on the environment are well documented. What people are less aware of are the staggering amounts of microplastics present in most tea bags. When steeped in hot water, they release billions of microplastic particles into the mug, each one the size of a grain of pollen.

When purchased in loose form, this tea is sealed within a biodegradable cornstarch pouch. So when buying our teas, whether in loose or pyramid form, you can do so safe in the knowledge that our tea bags and packaging materials are completely biodegradeable and free of microplastics.

Unfortunately this fabulously named Tor really is not that exciting at all. No-one has ever figured out what the devil has do with it, not even any ridiculous suggestions have been offered.

We have sat on its in as unspectacular outcrop with a strong cup of lapsang and stared at the breathtaking views that are as extensive in distance than any we have ever seen. To feel part of a much bigger picture is where we find the meaning here.
